High Horse

Introducing…[drum roll] the High Horse monthly playlist! An hour-ish delight, (mostly) featuring musicians who you might not have heard of (yet) and are currently touring. The idea is, you can hear someone you might not have heard before and then go out and see a live show. We want to try and have a solid mix of genres and sounds so that there is something here for everyone. We hope it gets a little weird. Here at the High Horse HQ, we don’t really like rules and will probably deviate from all of the guiding principles we just set up. Because, you know, anarchy.  

This month’s lineup is a shapeshifting collection of music that is a little bit twangy, a little bit doo-woop, and a little bit dancy; crooners like Ural Thomas and Marlon Williams, and storytellers like GracieHorse and Tobacco City. This month’s playlist features:

• Duff Thompson! On tour with (the amazing) Steph Green starting August 8 (more details here)
• Kassi Valazza! Currently on a euro tour with some west coast dates coming up in November
• Riley Downing! Currently on tour in August (more details here)
• Marc Ribot! Currently on tour August – October (more details here)
• The Alchemist! Playing in LA in August followed by a short euro tour

Maybe say “hi!” to the artist after the show and realize that we are all part of a rad collective community and that we actually live in a giant small town. Have fun! We’ll put out another one of these next month, so stay tuned!
