What You Wish For
Do you remember when
you told me to get help
Well I’m still thin and
more beautiful now
all of my achievements
framed on my apartment’s
piss colored wall
Second Wife
Getting put down like
an animal and yet
you walk so tall
Biting at your heels
for my rightful scraps
of love
I’m a dog that bites its owner
And I don’t have a shed to be shot behind
One Bedroom One Bath
Blowing a paycheck
on a new winter coat
every year adding lines
to my scoreboard
Gas on in the garage after work
defensive driving in the snow
Dog on Dog
Exchanging the time of day in
my good person cosplay like
loathing does not exist
Ginned up lying to anyone
taking every apology
for the trophy case
